This illustration accompanied the tale about 'Rapunzel' and shows the whisked witch cutting Rapunzel's hair after she learns that a prince has been visiting Rapunzel in the tower where the witch confined her. In 1812, the Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm, published Children and Household Tales, a collection German fairy tales. Johann was a well-known German illustrator. This image is from Grimms Eventyr (Grimm's Fairy Tales) by Carl Ewald, published in 1922.
